SpoVote uses location — either your device's location (if you allow it) or a place you type in — to show sessions happening near you and to plot venues on the map. You don't need to grant device access; searching a city or neighborhood works just as well. We never sell your location data or share it with advertisers.

No — finding, joining, and hosting sessions is free, and always will be. SpoVote Pro is an optional upgrade for coaches, trainers, referees, and scouts who want a verified profile, a boosted marketplace listing, and analytics on top of the free experience.

After a session, players vote for who stood out — right from the app. Votes are scoped to that specific session, only people who actually played are eligible to receive them, and each voter gets one vote per session. It's built to reflect what happened on the field, not outside influence.

SpoVote is intended for users 13 and up. You can block or report anyone directly in the app, and we never sell your data or share it with advertisers. As with meeting anyone new, use common sense for your first session with someone — meet in a public place and let a friend know your plans.

"Indie sports" is our word for the long tail of organized play — the pickup games, amateur runs, and local sessions that happen without a league office, a franchise, or a ticket. It's not about being pro; it's about being local, self-organized, and open to any level. A group chat can tell you a game exists — it can't help you settle when everyone's actually free, confirm who's really showing up, or remember who's earned a reputation for it. SpoVote adds the structure a scattered thread can't: voting to lock in the sport, time, and place; live attendee counts so you know a session is real before you head out; and a history that recognizes the regulars. Finding, joining, and hosting sessions costs nothing, and always will — that's the free core of the app. SpoVote Pro is a completely optional upgrade aimed at coaches, trainers, referees, and other service providers who want a verified profile, a boosted marketplace listing, and analytics on top of the free experience everyone else already has.

Not even a little. SpoVote is built for every level, not just the competitive ones — total beginners, weekend warriors, and lifelong athletes all show up on the same map. Filter sessions by skill level if you want a closer match, or just join in and figure it out on the field. The only requirement is showing up.

Regular physical activity has well-established health benefits, and public health authorities — including the CDC's Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans — encourage adults to get moving regularly. Pickup sports are an easy way to build that activity into a routine you'll actually stick with, since it's social and built around a game rather than a chore. We can't promise any specific health outcome, but we do believe that when more people play more often, whole communities get a little healthier and more connected.
